Mr. Sean E. Glover

My journey into the world of education was ironically developed due to the events that occurred during my senior year in high school. As a student-athlete at Calhoun County High School, I faced one of the most difficult things that a student can face, during what should have been the most exciting time in one’s life. I accepted a full scholarship to “Indiana University” to continue my education. Unfortunately, once this occurred, several teachers and administrators who were there to give instruction and guidance while serving as role models did the opposite. During a time when they should have been supporting me, they ridiculed me and  told me that, “I would not make it, I would never graduate, I was fooling myself, I would fail”. Those terms of endearment were my fuel to succeed.
My drive and passion for children were birthed through the trials that I had to overcome in order to have this great opportunity to teach, inspire and support the dreams of young people through education. My fear was for every Sean Glover who used situations like this to push beyond the glass ceiling, there were more who took those terms and allowed them to shatter their dreams. My work ethic and leadership skills as a student-athlete on and off the playing field allowed me the honor of being voted team captain during my Junior and Senior campaigns. These leadership characteristics were also recognized by various organizations in the greater Bloomington Community and the Big Ten Athletic Conference. As I entered into the role of professional educator, coach, and athletic administrator, these leadership skills continued to grow and transform. I was one of the youngest Head Football Coaches in the State of South Carolina at age 23. My principal had enough confidence in my leadership skills to trust that I could thrive as both a teacher and a coach at that age. Through my years as a teacher, coach, and athletic administrator, I  have been blessed to assist many young people with career choices. Over the span of my career, I have been blessed to assist hundreds of student-athletes, gain full or partial financial grants and aid to further their education. I have also helped guide others toward careers in the military and the workforce.
Experiences gained in my career as a teacher, coach, department chairperson, and athletic director made for a smooth transition into the role of  Assistant Principal. Being a collaborative leader in previous roles has given me an edge in building a cohesive staff. As an instructional leader, my role is to work with teachers daily to help our students attain the overall achievement of college or career readiness upon graduating. This is the fundamental goal embedded in the collaborative practices that I have embraced as an instructional leader. My personal story fuels my passion to see that “ALL” students receive the best possible education every day to reach their full potential. My goal is to make sure that students who dream are not confronted by dream killers as I was. Having the support of teachers, staff, and administration is a key component to students being successful and believing that they can achieve whatever DREAM they can dream of.
At Lake Marion High School EVERY student has a "WHY". Our goal is to find that "WHY" and develop it into their promise. I look forward to working with you on this journey of the "WHY". Go Gators!

I often say that I did not choose education but rather that education chose me. As a young child I loved playing school with my cousins and often found myself in the role of the teacher. I remember babysitting my younger cousins and sibling as well as having several babysitting jobs as a teenager. I did not start my college journey to become an educator. I went to college to become an Interior Designer. However, as I progressed through college, the calling towards child education grew stronger. I decided to open a childcare center but other plans were in my future.

My first year of teaching was one of the best experiences I have ever had and I knew then I was born to be an educator. The guidance and mentorship that I received blessed me beyond measure. My heart was full, knowing that I was able to impact the lives of our future generation(s). Needless to say, this will be my 25th year as an educator. I do not take my role as an educator lightly. I am passionate, dedicated, and committed to helping students become successful in their journey through high school.
